Michigan. Georgetown is just too big. And DC is expensive. Ann Arbor is a nice place to spend 3 years. The school has made a lot of positive changes.

Easy one here - Michigan. I don't even think $15K more from Georgetown should sway you.

I think you should just declare victory and head to Ann Arbor. The offer you have is pretty darn good for 75% GPA and a point below median LSAT.

Also, just curious, what is your background? K-JD? Something else? Those are good numbers. I am surprised you did not get more.
I mean, he's median LSAT at GULC and got 45k a year.. That's a pretty solid offer for the numbers and I wouldn't expect anymore. Also below median LSAT at Mich and got half scholly. 175k is a lot of debt which would worry me a lot since striking out at OCI is very possible. Id expect a lot of people to say don't go but it's totally up to you and how comfortable you are with it.

Retake so you can go to Penn with more money than what Michigan and Georgetown are offering you. That way you can stay in the same city as your gf and family, get much better biglaw odds, and likely spend less money on school. This choice is not binary and it's a false dichotomy to declare these as your only two options.

OP mentioned he has already taken the LSAT 3 times. Not sure taking it again is an option. OP?

Retaking is always an option. You may have to wait a year or two, but that doesn't remove it as an option.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you find this information? I'd love to see it for all the schools.

For what it's worth, I'd choose Michigan, but really I think you should visit both and get a feel for their campuses and cultures if you can.

Wait a year or two for hopes a chance at a higher score which in turn gives you a chance at a different school provided that the application cycles dont get more competitive seems like a bad bet in this situation. It's an option it just seems like too many things have to go right for if to be a good one.

Yes I know it's an option and you may have missed what I was getting at. Whether it is a good idea or not to retake requires numerous factors to be considered for the OP, who we have limited information on. Just to throw out "retake" is a bit premature.

Sorry if I wasn't clear on that -- those stats are from 2014 and they can be found on Law School Transparency under "Jobs Data."
Cool, thanks, I guess I hadn't noticed it 'cause I was looking at 2015 and UVA doesn't give that information out anyway.

It seems odd that "5.3% of all [Georgetown] graduates obtained their jobs through On Campus Interviews (OCI)" for 2014. Previous years were much better, but that would make me wary.

Mich is worth the extra money given these two choices.

Nobody can tell you how much it is or should be worth to you to be able to see your GF/family almost every weekend or a couple of times per semester.

lol @ "michlaw" advocating his heart out for OP to attend Michigan. no bias there.

having said that, I would go Michigan here, albeit it's a ton of debt

Take GULC. Then if the admissions team give your MI spot to me, we can all be happy.

On a serious note, you are more likely to get a better education and better employment prospects at Michigan.

I don't think this call is really about money. Who knows how much you'd spend on traveling back and forth to visit your family and SO. Granted, I'm sure it won't be enough to make up the difference, but it could end up being significant.

The real question is whether the difference in employment outcome potential is worth the headache of being away from your SO and family. If you are miserable, you probably won't do as well, and that could impact your outcome more dramatically than whether you went to one school or another.

So I think it's a wash by conventional TLS standards and to make the decision will require some self-evaluation on your part about under what conditions you can perform effectively.
