what if I want big law? is Georgetown much better than WashU?mjs289 wrote:Depends I think...
If you have no worries about money, GULC. If money matters, well, set up a your goal and weigh.
GULC = Top 1/2 for biglaw.chestnut90 wrote:what if I want big law? is Georgetown much better than WashU?mjs289 wrote:Depends I think...

I would go WUSTL, but also depends on your location pref.
You know the answer. If money isn't issue, GULC without a question. 1/2 is obviously a better chance than 1/3.chestnut90 wrote:WUSTL 18th, GULC 14th,reasonableperson wrote:WUSTL = Top 1/3chestnut90 wrote:what if I want big law? is Georgetown much better than WashU?mjs289 wrote:Depends I think...

still is WUSTL better if scholarship difference is not a big issue?
Which school would be better for me if I want to join Big Law?

The Dean's Award at Wash. U is their standard scholarship. It's probably not going to help you one way or the other when it comes time to apply for jobs. Your grades are what matter. Anyway, as you stand now, Wash U is the better use of your money for the outcomes.chestnut90 wrote: I was wondering if there would be any advantage of receiving dean's award from WashU. Would that help me a lot to get into Big Law?
I'm sorry. It's actually called a Dean's Fellowship which offers other advantages such as guaranteed summer time assistant position and etc. If the difference of $60000 is not a big issue, is GULC better than WashU? I thought that Dean's Fellowship could make a difference in my resume.fliptrip wrote:The Dean's Award at Wash. U is their standard scholarship. The usual TLS wisdom is that legal employers don't care about scholarships, even fancy named ones. They care about what you accomplish once you're actually in law school. I think this fellowship comes with like a guaranteed RA position, but even that won't carry a ton of weight. And you might be able to get an RA position at GULC if you want one.chestnut90 wrote:I'm sorry.
