Top Law Schools

It's come down to the wire and I haven't heard back from UCLA, USC, or UCI (thanks California!) so I'm currently deciding between these:

• U of A (full scholarship, total cost: 63k)
  ASU: (60k scholarship, total cost: 132k)
  WUSTL: (120k scholarship, total cost: 100k)

-Financing will be via loans.

-I'm from CA but don't particularly need to end up there, willing to move for work.

-Career goals are to work in Copyright Law, starting at a firm of any size.

LSAT (taken once): 172
GPA: 2.7
Worked in copyright for 5 years in between undergrad and now. No diversity bump.

Any advice?

Unsure if bumping is acceptable but I'm curious if anyone has any advice for me. I think ultimately I'm leaning towards WUSTL.

Don't do ASU for a COA of $132k. Job prospects not worth it.

UofA is more reasonable but you will need to accept the fact that you will more than likely be restricted to the practice of law in AZ. UofA and ASU place almost exclusively within AZ.

I don't have any real info re WUSTL.

Retake the GPA and go T14....jk. I'm a little confused by your total cost layout. So you're saying that after applying your full ride to UA, you have 63k in debt? So 21k a year in living expenses? If that's the case, WUSTL seems like the sure choice.

With your career goals and geographic lack of preference, if you could get wustl to bump the money up a bit I'd choose wustl. I chose wustl at near full ride over a full scholly to u of a last year but I'm not sure I would make the same choice again. Feel free to pm me if you have specific questions about what went into that decision and how I feel about it now. Fair warning, I'm interested in public interest/gov so that really plays into how I feel about the whole thing now.

This is a tough one with that great LSAT. I think you would have had a chance at Northwestern if you applied. No option sounds amazing but I would probably take the full ride if I had a gun to my head or retake and beg/plead/ apply Ed to a top tier school.

Yeah, that was based on the costs they gave on their website. I think I could probably do it for less, like 50k total? But the employment numbers and size of the school scare me a little bit.

I definitely feel like I shot a little low but I'm not sure if another cycle would help that much, sadly. Applying ED is interesting and I hadn't thought about that at all.
