NYU (Sticker) vs. NU($)

Hey all,

So I've narrowed it down to these two options and I'm having trouble deciding. Target is Big Law Texas > Big Law anywhere, also interested in finance since I've got an accounting/finance background. Assume no debt at graduation. Basically trying to figure out what premium NYU is worth attending at over NU. Thanks for any input!

In order to receive the best feedback in this forum, please provide as much of the following information in your original post as possible:

-The schools you are considering
-The total Cost of Attendance (COA) of each. COA = cost of tuition + fees + books + cost of living (COL) + accumulated interest - scholarships. Here is a helpful calculator.
-How you will be financing your COA, i.e. loans, family, or savings
-Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
-Your general career goals
-Your LSAT/GPA numbers
-How many times you have taken the LSAT

Why would we assume no debt when you just said you'd be going at sticker

Assuming that Texas biglaw doesn't work out, would you prefer to practice in a large law firm in Chicago or in NYC ?
Both law schools have great locations, but I doubt that either is a pipeline to Dallas or Houston--although I am just guessing based on location. Was/is the University of Texas an option ?

stats are 3.61/171 with ties to texas. Attended texas for undergrad and felt like getting out of state for a few years.

Also, I think you should have better options with your stats. Potentially a full to UT which is very likely your best option for Tx big law. You may want to reapply.

No love from duke or uva? I feel like they are probably better for tx and are usually pretty generous with $

OP: Contact each law school (NU & NYU) for info. on Texas firms recruiting at OCI. Also, check out the firm bios of some major law firms in the Texas location that you prefer. Pay attention to the younger associates' law schools.
