Cornell is the obvious choice if you're targeting NYC (since Columbia & NYU are too expensive in your case).
Might be a better presentation of your options if you calculated the total COA for each school.

How is Cornell's placement, generally speaking, in NY big law? Essentially, where would I have to place in the class to get a reasonable offer?
Additionally, how are clerkship placements? Online data can be slightly misleading regarding that.

Median at Cornell could yield NYC biglaw offers. Cornell is known as a pipeline to NYC biglaw.

Cornell would save your family some cash while still giving you a solid shot at NYC BL/clerking.

Judging by the most recent employment stats I think it's safe to say that even below median can get you NYC biglaw from Cornell.

If you prefer Duke, I think its still justifiable. Although their scholarship is 40k less, the lower tuition and COL probably brings the difference down to about $20k.

I think when folks refer to median they generally mean the entire middle 1/3 since that whole range may only have a small GPA spread.

Not sure what "reasonable offer" means. You could have a 3.0 and get a "reasonable offer." There's a lot more to it than grades. If you're normal and somewhere around median, you'll be fine.
Also not sure what's misleading about the clerkship data. If you're top 10% or slightly below, you have a good shot at getting a clerkship. And the new Dean has been ramping up clerkship resources.

Cornell is a great option, though I still think as a KJD you should take time off to gain general life experience and maturity.
