Anyone have thoughts on $35k at UC Hastings vs a full ride to University of San Francisco.

Please could really use some input.

If you had to pick, or maybe even UC davis?

-Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
-Your general career goals
-Your LSAT/GPA numbers
-How many times you have taken the LSAT

UC Davis for cheap is aight, assuming you're not biglaw or bust. The other two's employment stats would make me wary of attending.

USF shouldn't be attended under any circumstances. Only a third of grads become lawyers 10 months after graduation.

I wouldn't attend Hastings under any circumstances either. Half become lawyers 10 months after graduation.

Davis is defensible if it's cheap.

$60k is the most I would spend. This includes tuition+col+books+interest+tuition rising, etc.

Retake. Definitely retake. I'd kill for your gpa. It can do wonders for you when paired with a higher lsat. People with your gpa and 168s and 169s got full rides to UVA this year. Pretty sure, you'd have some $$ at Berk too, if that's more your cup of tea.

Yes. You should retake and apply next cycle. Your gpa is stellar. No schools is out of reach. There are two schools in Northern CA that are much better options for you.

Also do not apply in February if (when) you reapply.

Now i'm really thinking its better to wait a year.

I only studied for 2 months and got the 162, that too while working full time and living with housemates that were too loud.

Do you guys suggest retaking the test in sept and re-applying ASAP?

Yes I got in to Berk and I got a full ride at Davis with a 167/3.6. If you are open to re-taking and re-applying, I'd say you should really consider it.

Now, that being said, the 167 is from the summer after college when I studied for a couple months full-time. I re-took this past year to try to boost that score but it was very difficult with working full-time and having a life, so I totally understand that it is easier said than done to boost your score. That being said, I think there's plenty of time between now and September to boost your score. Work your way through the Powerscore books, do a chapter or so each night. You can do that in a month or so. Then go to the library and do a PT each weekend, and over the course of the week analyze what questions you got wrong and why. During the week if you don't have the time/energy to do a whole PT after a full day of work just do a section or two. I would sometimes do a section on my lunch break. It's not as good as taking a whole PT at once, but it can at least help you practice quickly flipping on into test mode.

Yes, retake in Sept and apply immediately after your score comes in.
