Admitted to American with $20,000/year for 3 years. How does that compare with others of similar stature.

It wouldn't be worth going if they gave you full ride + cost of living + a stipend. Its that badOhBoyOhBortles wrote:Don't go to American.

Nah.JahRakal wrote:American is a decent (not great) school but at an excellent location, only a few years ago it was still part of tier 1 schools, and there's no reason to think American won't be top 50 again in the coming years. whether you should go or not depend on which other schools you are considering, but American is a good choice with that scholly

Just to make sure OP is not persuaded by this terrible advice: (1) top 50 means nothing; (2) location of the school also means nothing; (3) you will still be in 6 figures of debt in one of the most competitive job markets in the country; (4) American is stain on your resume forever and ever.JahRakal wrote:American is a decent (not great) school but at an excellent location, only a few years ago it was still part of tier 1 schools, and there's no reason to think American won't be top 50 again in the coming years. whether you should go or not depend on which other schools you are considering, but American is a good choice with that scholly

What does "others of similar stature" mean? Other admits? Other law schools? This sounds like a bad plan.nylawprospect wrote:Admitted to American with $20,000/year for 3 years. How does that compare with others of similar stature.
The schools you are considering
-The total Cost of Attendance (COA) of each. COA = cost of tuition + fees + books + cost of living (COL) + accumulated interest - scholarships. Here is a helpful calculator.
-How you will be financing your COA, i.e. loans, family, or savings
-Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
-Your general career goals
-Your LSAT/GPA numbers
-How many times you have taken the LSAT

Well guys IDK, have we all forgotten about brianiac graduating magna cum laude from american in 2018 and then becoming a U.S. Senator? I wouldn't want to compete with that. He should shoot for G/G.RustyRyan wrote:What does "others of similar stature" mean? Other admits? Other law schools?
