Based on your current offers & interest, Cornell is the obvious choice. Penn & Duke become interesting with substantially increased offers if you want to experience a change of location for a few years.

It isn't even close now, but see what Penn can do after looking at Cornell's offer - 70% of Penn's class of 2014 landed jobs at firms with 101+ attorneys...

Easily Cornell. I'd consider Duke if they offered a full ride, and Penn if they upped their offer considerably. Duke isn't worth much more if anything to you for your goals, and Penn isn't worth anywhere the extra 92k of debt. I'd probably start to consider Penn if that difference was roughly halved to the 40 - 50k range.

Cornell is the obvious choice, congratulations.

Damn Penn killed it. That 70% doesnt even included fed clerkships. They had only 69% including fed clerkships last year.

If you actually want PI, government or Biglaw in NY state besides NYC, then this is mindblowingly easy for Cornell. We have an entire OCI for that. Everyone else just uses it as a last resort, but for someone with ties and work experience in upstate NY and who actually wants to work there, you should easily get one of these jobs. Or you can do NYC biglaw if you end up preferring that.

I'd only consider Penn at near equal cost because while it looks like they killed it this year and would likely be better for NYC Biglaw, it doesn't help with upstate NY firms.

165K is the max. Only thing higher is a Hughes scholarship, which you can't really negotiate into afaik.

dumb that Cornell (and NW and probably a few others) don't just do full tuition and fees.

Huh? The Hughes is full tuition, just like the Hamilton at Columbia, the Dillard at UVA, etc.

Anyway, I've been informed in PM that someone did receive 59K/year without it being a Hughes. That's like 1K/year less than full tuition, which is weird, but whatever. It was an original offer, not through negotiation. So I guess people can knock themselves out trying to negotiate up to that now.

According to Cornell's 509 0 students in the entire law school are on full tuition (or more than full tuition) scholarships.

Unless they literally just started doing that this year

The new Hughes scholarship is full tuition. This is its first year
