A reverse splitter=someone who needs to retake the LSAT.
Seriously, just retake it and get huge scholarships to these schools next year.

If you want NY big law then I'd take Cornell in this situation. Ideally, I'd retake the LSAT though.

Retake, I would definitely not feel good about asking for a hundred thousand dollars from my family if I could just take a 100 question multiple choice test again instead

Of these options, take Cornell. It's a solid pipeline go NYC BigLaw.
Email Michigan and see if they'll up their offer to match Cornell, and then go back to Cornell, and so on and so forth. Definitely negotiate.

Don't forget the semi-rich parent discount.

You're still right MH, but op doesn't seem like they are going to retake.
Yeah 160k+ at graduation still doesn't sound like fun.

So how shitty was tenure track hiring for history post docs the past two years then

Can you post your exact debt at graduation for each school?
Also, your Phd will help some with hiring. At the same time a history phd is probably most relevant to legal history and constitutional law - two fields that are normally overloaded with great candidates.

NYC BigLaw? Then Cornell for sure. You can try to negotiate up the offer, but don't put too much hope on that.

If you don't retake and don't negotiate, then yes. For your goals it should be Cornell but you might be able to get some negotiation out of them. Especially if Berkeley comes through with a good offer.
