I'm sure this has been asked before but let's do the 2015 version, ranking T14 or similar (Vandy, UCLA) by quality of life.
I'd have to say
Top:
1. Virginia
2. Stanford
3. Duke
4. Michigan
and
Bottom
1. Harvard (big class size, intense competition, many transfers)
2. Penn (bad area)

this varies widely from individual to individual so kind of pointless

how would you know the quality of life if you've never been?

Um no.
Ah, I see you were waitlisted by Penn.

So OP is not a city person.

If you're worried about QOL in law school, you've chosen the wrong profession.

UVA is a great school but having to spend three years of your life in Bumfuck, Virginia seems like the worst thing about it (although I guess that keeps COL down).

"QOL" = "COL"
nothing else matters. If you think it does, you're wrong.

Duke was fantastic w/r/t quality of life, and I'd really be hard pressed to hate on any of the T14 cities generally (LOL Yale maybe?)
But Philly's a pretty underrated town tho.

Have you been to Charlottesville? It's awesome and gorgeous with amazing weather.

Charlottesville is cute but it gets small really fast. I would've liked it when I was 20.
The weather is gorgeous in the spring and fall, but it's cold in the winter and humid in the summer. I'm sure the weather is better than the Northeast, but that's not a high bar.

To be fair I only visited for the weekend so I can't talk about how quickly it would get small. It did remind me of where I'm from, so maybe I'm a bit biased.
Regarding winter: my -30 windchill up here begs to differ. I'll take Virginia "cold" all Nov-Mar (again a bias of being from the North).

I wish this data had been available when I applied. When I applied, no one had attended six T14s like OP.

I mean, "COL" is too subjective too make a general statement on how to differentiate T14s, but this is one of the dumbest fucking things I have ever read.
They're 2 completely different things

The quality of your life will be improved by paying less when you're not making any money and living off loans. Figure out how to enjoy wherever you are.

k but remember it's being compared to Stanford and Berkeley, so the weather's really not that great.

If you think the neighborhoods north of 125 st are bad, I can only assume you've never lived in a city before. Columbia area is boring, but not dangerous. Hell, nowhere in NYC is dangerous anymore when compared to nearly any other city in the country (maybe Brownsville or ENY, but something tells me few people here are taking the train past Broadway Junction).
If you're measuring expenses as part of QoL index, almost impossible to ignore the rent costs for Col/NYU, although I assume S/Berkeley and probably Chicago are similar.

"New Haven is not bad at all" sure sounds like a quality I want in my #1 QOL school

Also to the person that finds Columbia to be terrifying: you should never go to a park at night in any city in the world HTH.

Just no with your rankings. UVA is a fine school, but Charlottesville (though pretty) can get boring because of its very small size, plus the fratty social environment is definitely not for everyone. Michigan has a great student culture and looks like Hogwarts, too bad it's located in an arctic hellscape. I'd have the top 5 more like...
1.) Yale (no grades first semester and then no curve at all afterwards really dominates in quality of life). Most beautiful school by far. Also, New Haven is not bad at all and the food is the best.
2.) Stanford (Fantastic weather, chill West coast culture, and the best T14 football team by far. However, they do have first semester grades and Palo Alto is crazy expensive)
3.) Berkeley (same as Stanford up above, but more overall stress due to less jobs to go around)
4.) Harvard (it is a big class, but that lets it have more things to do. Plus the class doesn't hold you back in jobs. Cambridge and Boston is also awesome.)
5.) Northwestern (Chicago is amazing and Northwestern gets the better side of Chicago than UC. There you get to avoid Bad Leroy Brown.)
Duke, Penn, Michigan, UVA, NYU, and Chicago would make up the middle in some fashion.
12.) Columbia (Manhattan is incredibly expensive and many students have said it can be dangerous if you're not careful. Riverside Park is nice but they say not to go there at night. Up above 125th street can be rough as well. Finally, everyone knows how dangerous Morningside Park can be.)
13.) Cornell (Ithaca is in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and it's known for being very competitive)
14.) GULC (I love DC, but the absolutely enormous student body and large class of transfers combined with the poorest employment scores would make it a very stressful environment.)
no
