Do the "Business Insider" rankings matter?

SIAP, but do the "Business Insider" rankings mean anything? According to their methodology, they polled 300 people via "SurveyMonkey," and combined those results with other stuff, like employment stats, which sounds a bit sketchy. Some of the entries, like CUNY, are not schools that I recall seeking ranked in the Top 50, but who am I to judge?

This just makes me think Buzzfeed is doing law school rankings. Which would be as valid as anything that's not LST.

Lax is dumb.

It does seem a bit click-baity. Unfortunately, the line between click-bait and legit journalism is getting harder to distinguish.

I became aware of the list because a dean from one of the schools in the list sent an email to their alumni about it. The fact that their main in-state rival was not listed at all was also a point of pride.

no commercial rankings matter.

this one is a little more laughable than some, less ridiculous than others (see Cooley), but the problems with this survey are not limited to business insider. they are endemic in the higher education rankings industry as a whole

I think this is an interesting metaphysical question.

If something = matter because it exists in a physical form, and if Business Insider's rankings exist in a physical form,
then I think we can say yes, matter.

At least they have the t14 in the t14, although putting Georgetown 7th makes this list awful.
