Sup guys,
My question is about the Boston/MA law schools. I really want to get BC/BU when I apply after next year, as a hopeful David Cone Splitter-- I will be taking the exam in June.
But my GPA will have serious problems from my first UG instituion-- like sub-3.0 status, despite a drastic, continued upward trend. In the event that I can't get BC/BU, what do you think would make the other MA schools defensible options, money wise? I'm from MA, with ties to Boston, as I live 10 minutes from the city, and my goals are rather modest-- Local/state gov't, or small law in MA.
Obviously, once I take the LSAT I will max out my retakes, hopefully until I'm at least in the 167-170 area.
It seems that BC/BU aren't that splitter-friendly. So I suppose my question is, with my goals, if the big Boston schools aren't gettable, what other options will I have, with these goals? Would one of the midwest splitter-friendly schools like WUSTL be an okay option to practice in MA, or is it too regional?
And this may be a silly question--but my family has ties to BC/BU, as in, my great uncle was a longtime professor there, who had a wing of a building named after him. Is there any way this could be used to help in the admissions process, and if so, how? Could it be subtly brought into a why X essay?
I know there's a lot here, any advice on any piece of this would be quite helpful.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
DCS
