Just saw this updated semi-annual law school rankings according to student reviews. While they should be taken with a grain of salt, it's interesting to hear what current students have to say about their law school and how they rank it.

Methodology:Graduateprograms.com reaches current and recent graduate students through scholarship entries as well as social media platforms. All law school rankings cover a period from September 1, 2012 to September 30, 2014. Graduateprograms.com assigns 15 ranking categories to each graduate program at each graduate school. Rankings cover a variety of student topics, such as academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid, and quality of network.
School rankings...are determined by comparing the sum of the average scores in each of the 15 subcategories. Graduate programs are not ranked until the number of student surveys completed reaches a minimum threshold.
Useless

Why do you think this list is remotely interesting?

I wouldn't put much any stock in this, considering it has Thomas Jefferson School of Law (which is a kind of dumpster fire that's rare in human history) above Harvard. When evaluating law schools, you should really be looking at cost and career outcomes, not whether the current students like the university wifi or whatever.

No Cooley? Thought it would have a higher review based on its library size.

Not so fast.

From the sounds of it, they reached and contacted people who A) filled out applications for likely bogus/non-existent scholarships or B) answering bots via social media request.

This is prime phishing behavior. So we now have a list of how well law schools are liked (relatively) by those people who should not be trusted with a computer.

How did Tech rank higher than Texas? Anyone who has ever been to Lubbock knows it is a miserably depressing place.

Also, Texas to the T14. Woohoo.

Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One’s Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments
Abstract
People tend to hold overly favorable views of their abilities in many social and intellectual domains. The authors suggest that this overestimation occurs, in part, because people who are unskilled in these domains suffer a dual burden: Not only do these people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it. Across 4 studies, the authors found that participants scoring in the bottom quartile on tests of humor, grammar, and logic grossly overestimated their test performance and ability. Although their test scores put them in the 12th percentile, they estimated themselves to be in the 62nd. Several analyses linked this miscalibration to deficits in metacognitive skill, or the capacity to distinguish accuracy from error. Paradoxically, improving the skills of participants, and thus increasing their metacognitive competence, helped them recognize the limitations of their abilities.
