I am told by professors that I trust that students in H rarely engage in open conversations about anything during class, as if they are afraid to utter the wrong word in front of others. Do you find that to be the case, as a student?hlsperson1111 wrote:Harvard
Pros:
1. You are pretty much guaranteed biglaw if you want it. Federal clerk and government placement is excellent too.
2. Very strong career services (for both public and private sector jobs) and probably the best alumni network in the world.
3. A ridiculous breadth of course offerings.
4. Tons of lay prestige.
5. Many excellent professors (who may or may not overlap with the professors who are excellent scholars).
Cons:
1. $$$$$
2. Many professors are horrible. Sometimes you can avoid them, sometimes you can't.
3. Boston is overpriced, has terrible weather, and is full of awful people.
4. Students are generally unfriendly (unless you're part of the same clique), stressed-out, and gunnery.
5. The administration is bureaucratic, unfriendly, and terrible about accommodating very reasonable requests. They will treat you like you are completely fungible and unimportant, and it gets frustrating after a few years.

There are some people who will not shut up, and there are some people who are deathly afraid of being wrong in public. There are also a bunch who don't talk in class because they're disengaged and DGAF. You probably remember the ones who don't shut up most vividly.

Did 6 because I break rules and don't care
Emory
PROS
+ The professors are on point (#FreerBlessed, Funny, Down to Earth)
+ Weather is on point (Layering is dope)
+ ATL is on point (Can do adult things outside of class)
+ Students are on point (Nice, outgoing, southern charm, etc.)
+ School is point (Thursday Kegs (see free drinks) for students and professors)
+ Unofficial Mascot is on point (Crazy skeleton guy(girl?) that rolls 10 bodyguards deep)
CONS
- Half the class is from UF/FSU, so everything is compared to Gville and Tallanasty (Nobody wants to hear it)
- Gotta trek for some decent food (but, it's hella decent)
- Law School groups all the club meetings at the same time (so gotta pick and choose)
- Can't do both moot court and Law Review (Serious gripe)
- Every building is made of marble and so beautiful it hurts, until you get to the concrete bunker that is the law school (its what's on the inside that counts)
- Ebola
