lol Chi is winning by far...Big Dog wrote:Personal fan of Chicago, but the plurality of TLS tends towards the NE, so Penn should win out if you put it in a Poll.

Like Mal asked, what's your actual, total cost if attendance at each?eitheror wrote:Sorry for my lag time in responding! I didn't want to spam too much without significant changes. I was able to have Penn raise the offer by 10K, which is a tad more than Chicago (similar situation to the original offers).
The decision was pushed off until early next week since negotiating wasn't finished. TLS would be so proud of my FA negotiation skills lol
I guess the reason the choice isnt so obvious for me is because I didnt have a chance to visit Chicago, whereas I am already familiar with Penn, their culture and where I would be living. I have been reading all the Chicago threads to try to makeup for not being able to visit before I make my decision. I definitely realize how silly that sounds.

The right decision is Chicago but you seem to be fishing for people to validate you going to Penn so you should just go.

Yes, if I were you I would try to not let your prior commitment to penn influence your decision. Sure, it would be hectic to switch everything so late but that really only amounts to a week of more work for you. Gotta think long term, this is a career move afterall.
Also, I agree that attending any law school with a lot of debt is a bad idea, but if you must go then Chicago is one of the few schools that can justify a high debt load. nice work on the negotiations so far tho
