I'd vote BC

Personal experience in... prestige? Among lay people?*

All three schools are exceptionally regional. There is no way someone has "no preference in location" to the extent that something as silly as school prestige takes priority. *curious to see what this looks like, in terms of quantifiable data.

"Oh, I went to a bar and told a girl I went to BC, and she was bouncing on me an hour later."

"Aw, man, I went to GWU and I can only bang bar bimbos after two hours of banter. I knew I should have gone to a school with more prestige!"

BC might have more prestige in its region than the others do in theirs. I'm from the area and BC Law is probably second to Harvard in lay prestige, and arguably for legal prestige also.

GW, gets mistaken for georgetown by lay peoples all the time. personal experience.

i am considering the exact same schools and I am 90% sure choosing BU. GW class size is mammoth, Fordham is the 4th best law school in the state of New York (NYU, columbia, cornell) and everybody is gunning for NYC from the top 14. BC/BU is a toss up that i am wrestling with a lot.

Yup, with 40% acceptance rate, GW has so much prestige.

I am not from the east coast so I can say this definitively: objectively speaking, none of those schools are prestigious.

People know where the Boston schools are because they have Boston in the title. Presumably they are state schools in MA.

George Washington could be anywhere. DC? Virginia? Missouri? California? Who knows, all I know is it's not prestigious.

What the hell is a Fordham?

If these schools are presitigious to someone it's because they are from that area. So it'll be highly dependent on who you're talking to.

Also, just go to whichever one you have the best ties to the region it places in and don't do it for more than about 80K total COA. Don't worry about amorphous, meaningless stuff like "lay prestige."

Don't go to law school.

Even if you have no preference for location, ties can still be important for establishing what is a more realistic outcome. So, any ties to NYC/Boston/DC?

Fordham undergrad is a separate campus from Fordham law

Why such little respect for GW? After all, it's been consistently T20. Is it bcuz too expensive?
I'd say BU/GW for prestige, but Fordham for employment?

I'd vote for BC generally as it is probably the most "national" of the four regional schools.

Fordham if you are dead-set on NYC; GW if you are dead-set on D.C.

lay prestige is usually generated more from the undergrad reputation. In that sense, it's probably BC-GW/BU-Fordham, but I suppose it varies wildly depending on where you're from/the people you talk to

A third of the class is outright unemployed or working temporary stints for shit pay (and a shocking number are part-time)
NYC is one of the most expensive cities in the country to live in
It's reasonable to expect that a significant number of Fordham grads would benefit from the useful information I have provided

BU is the most national, I feel BC is by far the most prestigious, due to it being a top notch undergrad institution and strong in the Catholic community. Nobody knows what Fordham is and from people i talk to, every time i mention GW they say "what? why wouldn't you go to Georgetown doesn't GW suck?" haha
