Maybe I used the wrong terminology. I just meant that I am fine working in a smaller firm or a firm in a smaller market.BigZuck wrote:What do you mean by midlaw and do those type of firms hire freshly-minted grads from those schools?
I wouldn't go that far. UT is def better than WashU for placement. Whether or not it is right for the OP, I donno. close callNucky wrote:You liked Wash U better and you don't really seem to have a preference on where you want to practice. I'm going off memory, so I could be wrong, but I believe Wash U places better nationally. Again though, could be due to self-selection since Texas is a strong market but there's no way to really tell.crit_racer wrote:I wouldn't go that far. UT is def better than WashU for placement. I think UT is worth 100k including COL but that's another argument.Kool-Aid wrote:WUSTL and UT aren't peers but I would probably do WUSTL if you're comfortable being in the Midwest. UT isn't worth 100k.
Maybe I am overestimating cost of livings but minus savings and a conservative estimate of my wife`s earnings I have around 160k for Texas and 120k for WashU total.sublime wrote:Nucky wrote:I think UT is worth 100k including COL but that's another argument.Kool-Aid wrote:WUSTL and UT aren't peers but I would probably do WUSTL if you're comfortable being in the Midwest. Yea, I am kinda curious about OP's total COA, because he subtracted savings/wife's contribution from it, because I KNOW washU is closer to 80k at least with a 120k scholly.
