total debt at repayment?

At a glance though, it looks like you have two great options for your goals. Do you have a preference between DC and Texas?

I think both options are great for your goals. The "I want to clerk" comment makes me nervous, as I don't think 0L's should choose a school based on that (and I say this as a student at Chicago that is doing a Federal Clerkship). Chicago places very well in TX. UVA May be stronger in DC, I'm not sure. At the end of the day, I would choose UVA but would absolutely not fault you for picking UoC.

Pretty close, but I like UVA here. Fed clerkships are too competitive at both. If it was Yale/Stanford that would be different. Congrats on the awesome options!

Our placement for your career goals is tangibly better than UVA (DC is close but there's less intra-class competition for it here) but ~70k is a serious chunk of change. That's little enough debt to make either easily cost justified, I don't think you can go wrong. In light of the a chilly difference this is about as close of a toss up as I've seen.
