So i got pretty much a full ride at unranked st thomas which is in miami gardens. UM i have to pay sticker. I have to stay in Miami and i have yet to be accepted to FIU. Assuming I do not get in to FIU, what should I do? I will be attending law school no matter what. I just need justification for choosing Umiami at sticker. Thanks!

give us some more facts about your life. If you are independently wealthy or have loaded parents willing to bankroll, it would be a not life-shattering decision

Under no circumstances ever. If you are independent wealthy or you have a wealthy benefactor you could use that money to pay for a much better school (or to buy a car/condo/whatever).

Miami at sticker is always a very bad financial decision

but like hichvichwoh said, if you aren't going in debt for it, at least it wouldnt ruin you financially.

Just justify it somehow in your own head, you almost certainly won't find any justification here

Maybe if you won the lottery and don't ever want to stray too far from your Miami mansion but you really, really LOVE THE LAW

I would go to one of those schools for free if I was cool with staying there forever (which it sounds like you are). Just looked at St. Thomas's employment stats, and I wouldn't go there if it was free. You should retake the LSAT so that you don't have to pay to go to Miami. What are your stats?

Pretty sure Miami is stingy tho.

they didn't give me a scholarship with a 168

The only true justification is if you're rich. Even if you have a guaranteed six-figure law job lined up upon graduation, you should just to the cheapest school you can find (e.g. TTT in low COL area on full scholly).

Don't go to law school. Or at least win the lottery first.

Haha wtf that is ridiculous. I guess they have no shortage of people willing to pay sticker, as this thread amply demonstrates.

I was offered $20k/yr with a 159 and a splitter GPA (<25th percentile)

UM is not stingy with their scholarships.

U Miami sticker would probably be one of the worst career decisions I've seen this cycle.

Fun fact, 65.4% of UMiami students are attending with $0 in grant aid.

I guess they just didn't like me

I also applied in 2011-2012, so that may have had something to do with it.

There is no justification for this whatsoever. If you're dead-set on staying in Miami, retake for significant scholarship money. Even then, be careful, as Miami is notorious for their sTTTipulations.
