Cardozo (Full) vs. BU ($$$$)

Hello everyone,
I am having a hard time choosing between the two, mostly because, even though BU isn't a full scholarship, the total COA once the different in COL etc is factored in they will cost the exact same amount, which is about 25k/year.
I'm from LA, went to school out east, and hope to work in NYC, but don't know how much Cardozo's location being in NY will outweigh potential other factors or whether the rank will even make a difference between the two.

At this point I'd like to be a litigator, but like college majors I'm sure that will change many times over the course of the three years.

Numbers: 3.7gpa, 165, URM if this helps the discussion along

I didn't apply to many schools, so I'm not really waiting on any school at this point

What kind of URM? It's weird that you don't have better choices. I know URMs with those numbers in H.

TCR here is Boston. Though with your numbers and URM status, you should be looking at better options. Were there any significant weaknesses in your application that can be addressed? It might be worth it to sit out this cycle and reapply.

Well, I left out being WL at Duke, GULC, NYU, etc., and am working on those, but don't hold much hope for them.

I'm Mexican, and wish I were in at H

I don't think any weaknesses, good school/grades, international volunteering, polylingual, good PS (imo), just no bites

While I don't know that you're a Harvard auto-accept, you should have better options. I suspect something must be wrong with your app, might you have a particularly bad letter of rec?

I would retake the LSAT. Better options are well within reach.

Hmm, that would be...unfortunate

Ill look into June LSAT, but I definitely don't want to reapply next year, so worst case I'll go to the best option this year and try to transfer

No you won't, that's a terrible plan. I'm not going to let you, I'm putting my foot down on the transfer plan. Get it out of your brain. That's an order.

I should have noted that there are no stips on any scholarships

and the negative mark could have been withdrawing from a law school this past fall because I didn't like the school, city, nor career prospects (was a top 20 ranked school)

You mean you attended and withdrew after the semester started? If so then there is your problem IMO.

I would take a couple years off to retake, gain some perspective, and distance yourself from this. Come back and in an addendum you can hopefully explain that away cuz maturity, etc. and adcoms might actually believe you because it will sound more credible given the passage of time.

I agree. The withdrawal is an issue. Like BigZuck said, adcoms are going to be wary of the same thing happening again at their schools.

I called a few schools where I applied and they saiddd it wouldn't be a negative, but they probably did look at it suspiciously
