I've taken the LSAT three times so I really don't think I could do any better.

I would be taking out loans for COL in NYC. I'm expecting roughly $150K in loans to cover COL and the tuition my scholarship won't cover. I'm happy with ending up in either city. I am interested in the IP program at either school or Law and Economics at GMU. Does GMU place well in DC?

Any advice or insight on either school is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I guess I should mention I've also gotten $37 at Brooklyn, $35 at Northeastern, full at Penn state. Still waiting to hear back from BU, BC, and Fordham. I had eliminated the other options but if you can make a case for them
I'd be willing to reconsider.

If you have a full ride to Cardozo, and you want IP, and you want to live in NYC, then do Cardozo. Cardozo has a really good IP program. You didn't get in to any other schools?

I have, I just had narrowed it down to these two options. I edited my post accordingly. Thanks for the advice!

My biggest problem is I can't decide of I want to go IP or Law and Econ. I'm curious what employment opportunities are like with degrees from each school.

GMU offers a concentration in legal and economic theory. I studied Econ in undergrad and really enjoy looking at the law through that lens. I don't really see myself getting a phd due to my lack of skill in math and stats. My concern with this concentration is that there aren't really many career opportunities for it. But I don't know if I just have researched enough?

You won't need 150k to live in NYC. I think 80k is enough. Maybe even less.

I'm expecting 150k for GMU. I think you're right that 80k would cover NYC.

What do you think you want to do with a "law and econ" concentration?

I am interested in public policy, in particular. I do not know how viable an option that is though.

Not a very viable option. The people who do law and economics are called law professors, they went to HYS and clerked for a federal circuit, and they will be happy to take your money and provide you with a worthless concentration.

Look into what actual lawyers, like public defenders, prosecutors, and attorneys working in firms of 1-10 people, do everyday. If you don't want to do that, think about another way to achieve your goals.

GMU places well in government and mid size firms in NOVA.

From what I was told at career services, firms in NOVA like GMU grads because they feel like DC schools go into NOVA as "2nd Choice." Also, they said that they have a good relationship with the USPTO
