Hey guys, I'm a bit confused and looking for some advice. I graduated two years ago with a BA in political science. I was going to start law school on two occasions after that but ended up not going either time. I took the lsat 3 years ago and got a 162, gpa is 3.1 from southern state school. I ended up not going to law school both times because on the employment stats. Only about a half of grads were getting jobs that even require a jd. School was going to cost 50k but I didn't want to spend that on a 50% chance of getting a job. I'm now considering getting a masters in accounting, however im not sure what the job market for accountants is, i know its better than the legal market but by how much i'm not sure. Also, starting jobs for accountants are under 40k which is pretty low. Should I retake and go to law school or go with accounting. Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you think you would like to be an accountant, I'd do that. Good job prospects/security at a good living wage? That's a far better proposition than going to a law school with a 3.1/162.

Law school will always be there in five years if you dislike life as an accountant.

Do you plan on getting your CPA license?

I studied business in undergrad and from my understanding, the CPA route is solid and will remain in demand. Obviously getting it is very difficult...

EDIT: Starting salaries for accountants can be significantly higher than 40k

Agreed. Yeah CPA will be in demand. I can offer some advice on that route and career via pm if you're interested OP.
