NU or GW (w/ scholarship)

I got into NU and GW. I'm still waiting to hear back from a few schools, but GW needs a deposit April 1 to secure my scholarship. I have to decide whether I'm completely ruling out GW in favor of NU.

Schools: Accepted at NU, GW. Waiting on UPenn, NYU. Waitlisted UVA, Georgetown, Duke
COA: GW ($78k/yr - $25k/yr scholarship), NU ($76k/yr)
Financing: Loans/Family (not sure how much)/Savings (50k). Not the biggest deciding factor for me.
Location: From Philly, living in DC for 3 years
Career Goals: As big an IP firm on the NE Coast as I can get into. Patents and patent litigation. Biggest deciding factor for me.
Grades: 170/3.23 (mechanical engineering)
# LSAT: Twice

Does NU outweigh GW+scholarship in the long run? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I would go ahead and drop in a few hundred bucks to secure your spot/scholly at gw and wait to hear from the others (and possibly negotiate money out of others).

Any input on whether an NU education is worth an extra $75k in costs/debt compared to GW in the long run?

GW seems to be a solid choice for IP folks, but you should ask someone in that situation at GW. I think you are almost guaranteed a biglaw job with your background at NU. NU is worth the extra cost, in my opinion. I know that's an insane amount of debt, but it's what you are stuck with as a splitter. Still possible for NU to throw you a small scholarship.

I'm a GW 3L in IP. I don't think so if biglaw is your only/primary goal. IP Biglaw prospects from GW are comparable to prospects in the bottom half of the T14. My friend has just a physics BS with median LS grades here and he is heading for a market-paying vault firm here in DC.
