Deciding between WashU and Loyola want to practice in LA
Hey guys,
I currently live in Los angeles and am debating between going to Loyola in downtown LA or Washignton University in St.Louis.
I ultimately want to live and work in LA immediately after graduating, and am wondering which school to attend solely based on what would be best for my career and getting a job post graduation, because everything else is equal at this point (cost and/or any other externalities) .
I understand that it is better going to school in the area in which you intend on practicing on in order to increase your chances of passing the bar/landing a job, but there is a such a huge difference in ranking that I am stuck between which one to choose.
Thank you all so much for your help,
Brett

I assume you have a full scholarship and living stipend from both?
Then I would take Loyola, so you have better access to LA jobs.

Thanks for the response guys,
In response to retaking the test here are my numbers
Undergrad GPA: 2.7
LSAT: 166
I do believe I can get a 172 if I were to retake, which is where I was practicing at, however, with my GPA being so low I feel somewhat lucky getting in anywhere.
In regards too my GPA tho I was originally a Biology major and ever since I switched to the social sciences I have a very large increase (from getting on usual a 2.3 per quarter to 3.7/8)

retake, go to UCI and gun for one of Dean Chem's personal calls for clerkships.
Other than retake, reapply, don't even consider paying sticker at either school.
Work for a year and apply to Northwestern with a 171....

Don't sell yourself short. Having a low gpa is all the more reason to retake. If you really can hit 170+ on game day then go DO IT. 170, 2.7 is a way better place to be in.
Don't go to any school in LA besides UCLA or USC. Target these two if you wanna work in LA, and use WUSTL and other peer offers as bargaining chips primarily, secondarily as serious considerations if the cost is low and you're willing to consider places besides LA to work. All of this after retaking!
Good luck

Why no Hastings, Irvine, Pepperdine? I also don't disagree with re-taking and waiting a cycle.

Ucla and USC kids are having trouble in the LA market ITE. I don't like either of these options, even for free

Retake.
UCLA and USC could be tough because they have GPA floors, though they seem to be getting softer.
Wash U might be ok with full tuition, but realize you'll have to be flying home every break and in the summer to network in LA, and if you end up below median you're not getting back to LA in any desirable job.
Don't go to Loyola.
Basically, maybe WUSTL if you are comfortable with the fact that you might not get back to LA, but shoot for USC, UCLA. or don't go to law school.
