Oklahoma or Utah

Post by uvandy » Wed Mar 12, 2014 4:31 am

I'm having a tough time with these schools. No interest in retaking because I'm over 30, don't care about biglaw, and open to living anywhere. The lowdown:

- COA should be 0 at both schools thanks to the generous taxpayers of TLS
- Dream job is with the feds, either military or civilian
- No ties to either state except visits
- For personal reasons, OU is more convenient to attend this fall
- Prefer to live in SLC over OKC but concerned about not being Mormon

Much gratitude.

It won't be an issue. Being mormon in SLC obviously has some advantages (like being in the club), but not being in the club won't be held against you.

As far as you're other goals/stipulations, I can't speak to which school would be better.

Geographically though, I think SLC is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Great summer/winter outdoor activities nearby, and an insanely low cost of living. There are also a lot good restaurants/bars around and a decent nightlife. Also, if you haven't visited the school yet, it sits on a hill overlooking the state capital and huge mormon HQ building. Its really nice. I've always thought whoever let the Mormons have that part of the country seriously fucked up.
