Top Law Schools

Tough choice ahead for me - interested in some opinions.

I'm interested in IP law (soft, since I don't have a science background). I am originally from Michigan, but I don't have any legal ties in the area (or any area). No real desire for big law, but I would like a degree that can travel. Minnesota offered full tuition scholarship, Michigan is offering $25k/year. With my personal savings and parental assistance, I may be able to attend Minnesota debt free - Michigan would likely require me to take out $75k-$80k in loans.

Any thoughts? I've visited Minnesota and was quite impressed with the faculty and current students as well as their extensive clinical program. Planning on visiting Michigan in the coming weeks, but as a lifelong resident I already know how beautiful campus is.

Michigan. If you had a legit patent background , would be more up for debate, but it sounds like you aren't sure what you want to do, and Michigan will ultimately give you $75K's worth more options IMO.

Michigan. I think 75k for Michigan is a great deal, and will definitely give you the portability you are looking for.

Main criteria is a degree that can travel? Michigan, easily.

Definitely Michigan based on your preferences.

Michigan is a national law school; you'll have a good shot at firms from Boston to LA. Minnesota is really a much more regional law school. Michigan is well worth it.
