To give you guys an idea of the number of people at T14 schools, here are the matriculation and offer figures for what I assume to be the class of 2016 (number of 1Ls in fall 2013), according to the statistics provided in each school's profile on LSAC.org. I've grouped the schools based on their general ranking within the T14. For each school, I've listed the number of matriculants / number of offers, and for each group, I've summed the matriculants for the schools in that group:
Group 1 (938): Harvard (555/865), Stanford (180/384), Yale (203/245)
Group 2 (1,001): Chicago (184/897), Columbia (366/1,214), NYU (451/1,783)
Group 3 (1,206): Berkeley (263/813), Michigan (344/1,238), Penn (243/907), Virginia (356/920)
Group 4 (1,234): Cornell (191/1,181), Duke (209/949), Georgetown (575/2,296), Northwestern (259/1,040)
Total: 4,379 students
Given that about 40,000 JDs are awarded from all U.S. law schools annually, T14 law schools represent roughly 10% of law students.

good work, except stanford is off. The number of matriculants should be 179.

Thanks for catching that (I had accidentally posted Stanford's number
offers, not their matriculation number)! I changed it to 180, because that's what the LSAC profile publishes.

So this might come off as a bit snarky, but what's the point of this?

This. But I would find a yearly comparison interesting. See how much, if at all, class sizes have been affected by the recession...

No, not snarky at all. Some people may be curious about the relative sizes of top schools, the number of people at similar schools they're possibly competing against for jobs, etc. Granted, not everyone is aiming for the same clerkships, firm jobs, public sector positions, etc., but it helps put things in perspective. I, for one, wasn't sure whether the T14 (which is frequently touted on this board by some people as the only law schools they'd attend) represented as little as 5% of law students, or as many as 20%.

NU is definitely down to 229 these days, if you want to edit for accuracy. Your 10% point remains the same.
