NYC/DC Biglaw

I am aiming to work in either DC or NYC, but don't really care which. I've gotten into:

Georgetown
Cornell
GW ($20,000)
Michigan
WUSTL (full ride)
UCLA (25,000)

I've also been wait-listed at Penn and UVA. I feel like I should go to Michigan, but I can't shake Cornell's Biglaw placement and Georgetown's location.

I currently live in upstate NY, so large amounts of snow are fine with me. I'm also visiting WUSTL at the end of the month.

Did you ever retake? If not, you really should study up for June to get off waitlists or reduce the cost of these options.

Forget Georgetown's location unless they cough up big $$.. Michigan and Cornell are peers for biglaw. Michigan is probably cheaper, but I wouldn't roll the dice on sticker at either. I'd probably visit, and choose whichever gives you more $$, and retake if necessary to force their hand

With these options, I'd take Cornell. Marginally better shot at NYC biglaw than from Michigan. I'd also plan on attending either UVA or Penn if you get off the waitlist.

Honestly, if you get off the waitlist I would maybe try negotiating with Cornell for $$, they really do punch in above their weight. I would say if you get off the waitlist at Penn take it/use it to nego with lower T14. Otherwise either 1. retake or if not 2. Cornell

I'd go with WUSTL at the moment, but as others have suggested, you should get a scholarship from Cornell and possibly Michigan if you're getting a full ride at WUSTL. I wouldn't do Cornell or Michigan at sticker. You'd probably get biglaw but that COA gets up there.

I personally am not a huge fan of T14s at sticker if you're going for biglaw. You're looking at 5+ years just to break even, and that's even if you did get biglaw to begin with.

Update: Cornell has given me $20,000 per year, so I'll likely go there. Thanks, everyone!
