Top Law Schools

Hey guys and gals,
So I am a bit confused on what to do. I want to work in the LA area and have gotten into several schools already. Here is the list:
UCLA (waitlisted under early decision)
UC-Hastings
Loyola Law School
Pepperdine Law School
University of San Diego (12k per year renewable scholarship)
Southwestern Law School (100k scholarship)

Still waiting on:
USC
Davis
Irvine

I can live at home for Pepperdine which is 10 minutes away from my home (Calabasas). I would be able to live at home for UCLA, Loyola, and Southwestern but it will be a very long drive. I would appreciate any help as to which school would be a better choice.

Loyola/Pepperdine @ sticker is a rip off

What are your numbers? Honestly, none of these look like very good options. The CA legal market is tough, and placement from every Southern CA school ranked below USC is pretty poor.

Yea Southwestern isn't really a good option either...even with the $$$

I have a 157 LSAT and a 3.86 GPA, with a sociology major, at UCLA.

Retake LSAT. Absolutely retake. You can get into all of those schools, and with money, if you score even 10 points higher.

I was in your position last year. I retook and am now in at one T10 so far; you need to retake, especially if you want a good job in California.

The CA market is tough in this economy. I wouldn't be comfortable with anything less than a huge scholarship at UCLA/USC for SoCal.

Both the sociology degree and the law degree will be totally useless.
