Still early so I have other schools to hear from, but as of now I'm sitting at almost 50% off at UCLA and no $ at Michigan? Thoughts on which is better? I feel torn right now because I pumped myself up about ucla for a few weeks..but leaning towards Michigan

What/Where do you want to practice?

Leaning towards intellectual property, ideally in sports & entertainment. Where I want to practice is really up in the air at this point. Although I'd prefer Cali over NYC.

Michigan hasn't given out complete scholarship information, this is a bit premature. UMich for big law by a large margin, though.

First of all, love the avatar.
I don't anticipate anything from Michigan. I'm 25% LSAT and >75% gpa

Uh oh.
OP: if your preference ranking is:
1. CA big law.
2. NY/other big law.
3. Other CA options.
Then Michigan.

Then UCLA.

Not really sure if this qualifies as an uh oh moment..I'm pretty stoked about this it's a great "problem" to have. Anyways, thanks that does help.

Michigan has been weird with scholarship money this cycle. I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. Give it until the end of the month at least and for now, just bask in your acceptances!

I like this. It's a playful way to give the TLS line.

Pretty sure AntipodeanPhil--by the way, AP, I admire your work in the Personal Statements forum--was referring to your career goals.
Care to elaborate?

I was indeed referring to your career goals. In most cases, when people say they're going to law school to practice "sports and entertainment law," that means they're going to law school for all the wrong reasons.
Two main problems: (1) wanting to meet famous people is not a good reason to get a JD; (2) there are almost no jobs in sports and entertainment law, and they generally go to people with connections, people with relevant work experience before law school, or the occasional very lucky Harvard grad.
That said, I don't mean to be a douche. You did write "intellectual property, ideally in sports & entertainment," and obviously IP is an area people actually get jobs in. Plus, you've got in to great schools, so I'm sure you'll be fine whatever happens. And it doesn't hurt to dream!

No worries, completely understandable. I've done my due diligence and worked to make some good connections that will help out in the future. Definitely doesn't hurt to "dream", but make no mistake I don't want to do it because I watched Entourage.
