Well, it could be educational, at least relative to the stuff that gets posted here lately.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Yes, very weird subforum choice. Am tempted to lounge it, but I won't.Nova wrote:weird subforum choice.

Oh, sure. I actually moved it to this forum from somewhere else - can't remember, it was something odd - but didn't make that clear, sorry.vanwinkle wrote:Well, it could be educational, at least relative to the stuff that gets posted here lately.A. Comment: http://www.reddit.com/r/LSAT/comments/1 ... ts/ceijnkcT-14 or bust is complete shit. I mean, I'm from Florida so the elitist NE/Mid-Atlantic "I've got to go to a top school to secure a respectable job" mentality just isn't here. The most respected school in the state is a big "ra ra football" school ranked 48. The kids who go there think they are divine. And you know what? A lot of law firms in state actually agree. The school has around a 90% placement rate, if I'm not mistaken. A lot of "regional" regional schools (see what I did there ? :p) like UM and even Stetson have OK placement too. The TLS forum people are DELUSIONAL. I understand discouraging people from forking out 40 k if they are going to a Tier 3 and don't have connections but, your local state school should be fine if you work hard enough.

Interesting responses. Subsequent question to further test the elitist waters:
Harvard with full debtload and a chance at a Flying dragon that you can ride around on (chances sit at 15%), else a Volvo. Or TTT with guaranteed Mazda Miata and a peregrine falcon that only hunts on the third Sunday of every month. Srsly think this over, you fucking snobs.

Most laypeople I bet. Just working in a law firm is something that's impressive-sounding to many.Desert Fox wrote:I'm only half kidding. If we just wanted "A job" we would have gotten one without law school.

Re: Test of TLS elitism
Without TLS elitism I doubt I would have stayed out a year to retake and get a score that allows me to attend a school worth attending. I also recall reading a post a while back where someone pointed out the obvious truth that the legal profession is an elitist profession, where elitist ambition is needed to succeed. Confidence, no excuses, no pity for lazy people who don't retake, I don't see anything wrong with that. And... The scenario is seriously lacking a realistic component.
