Top Law Schools

Hey everyone,

I went to law school for three weeks, had to withdraw for various personal reasons, and now want to go back, if for no other reason, than to learn the law (not too worried about a job). I have a 2.94 and 158 - which can get me a full ride to a few schools I know, though I'm really looking for somewhere in a warm climate without stipulations. I plan on living out of a renovated van for the three years (progress on which can be seen here http://vandwellingdan.blogspot.com/), and then seeing about studying math or language or something while doing doc review.

What do you think of my plan? Mostly, what T3s, or T4s in Florida or Cali are there where I could land a full ride with no stipulations?

This might actually be one of those situations in which this is TCR. OP, if you have no ambitions to ever get a high paying job, PCOL might be a good option.

Just read your blog. There is something oddly appealing and romantic to what you're doing. Although I'm sure the novelty would wear off for me soon. But I'm happy to see you following your own path.

As to People's College - I was able to get a full ride to SIU this round (45-55% stip, 2.8 GPA), but realized I'd rack up way too much debt. Therefore I'd probably go to either a T14 (Berkeley in my dreams where I meet and fall in love with Chelsea Clinton and help her connect to the common man). Or if I'm really overestimating what I can retake, I'll settle for a full scholly at a less prestigious school. I only want to be a lawyer so I can yell objection and get paid for it, so it really doesn't matter where I go to school.

I'm currently planning on going to Korea for a year or two first - pay off all my student loans and pay for the renovation. And living expenses. And stuff. Food and fuel and beer. I'm tired. Good night.

The info on DePaul is incorrect, based off of the scholarship offer I received from them. I can't help but question the veracity of the rest of the list.

Maybe I can negotiate the stips out with my lsat score. Applications are going down, after all.

Are you sure you have the maturity to go through with this? There are some people who would be happy living a simple materialess life for their lives, but it seems like you're jumping all over the place and that you have idealistic notions of how this stuff will work. The time commitment is huge, and you're going to still be racking up debt. The van thing may also not be safe outside of college towns. In many big cities, if you have a TV and computer in that car 24/7, you're going to get robbed.

This is dumb. Shadow a lawyer for a few days before you go to law school. Don't take on any debt so in 10 years you can look upon this Into the Wild phase with a grin.

Nah bro. That place isn't even going to be accredited in two years.

Florida CoasTTTal School of Law is TCR, here. They should slash their COA down to nothing for a 158
