I have a 158/3.82, I AM RETAKING, but lets suppose I get a 158 again.
i want to ED in the top 14, maybe a school would be willing to give me a chance. I know its a long shot with a 158 though

Where should I ED?
I was thinking UVA, they will get back to me in 2 weeks, and I can ED somewhere else, perhaps Michigan.

But dont worry, I will try my best on the LSAT retake

With your current score you can ED wherever you want you don't really stand a chance. If I did ED with those numbers though I would probably try Chicago with the hopes you have some sort of strong soft/academic experience that will convince them to take a shot. If you are a VA resident, then UVA is also a good shot. Other than that... maybe Georgetown will go for it? Basically, if you were to still get a 158, any school you get will not be predictable. It will be very lucky and not something anyone here can really tell you they think will occur.

I think your shots at T14 with a sub 160, even ED, are very slim. Are you an URM? Get it in the 160s and UVA ED looks very good.

A retake to the low 160s likely won't matter for UVA, as you're still below their GPA median.

As it stands, don't ED anywhere. It would be a waste of your time and money. Wait for the retake, and if you improve by three or four points than ED Michigan would be worth a shot. If your retake goes well, apply to Michigan, Berkeley, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, and Georgetown, all of whom have taken LSATs in the low 160s and GPAs similar to yours.

Given your obnoxious attitude, I say you should absolutely waste your money by EDing to UVA and Mich. Just know that you won't be getting into either without a significant LSAT jump.

I dont see you getting T14 with a 158. Maybe UVA then Cornell, but I doubt either will work out. Best of luck on your retake.

Dude, even if you break 160 i think you're out. Since your below both medians at UVA, you won't get in there (I also tried it and was waitlisted). Cornell doesn't have an ED program. Just apply early in the cycle (EA) and cross your fingers.

I ran a MyLSN search. It looks like only 1 or 2 people in the last three years have reported an acceptance in with those numbers. (and i actually inflated your numbers a bit).

Looks very unlikely, even if you break 160

The sample size is miniscule but it looks like you're going to need 5+ pts to have a good shot at T14. Georgetown, Cornell, Mich, UVA, and maybe Penn are looking like your best shots.

Don't take this as disrespectful, but your OP sounds like you're willing to accept mediocrity. Why accept that? Why be willing to say, "158 is good enough for me" when you know you can do better? You want to know what is truly courageous? Be willing to say to yourself and your loved ones, "I'm willing to wait until I've reached my potential. I'm willing to put off a year of immediate gratitude for the prospect of lifelong professional satisfaction. I'm willing to do what it takes to succeed." Until you are willing to say all of that, forget your goals. Forget your plans. Remember that you are capable of more, and give up the rest of the BS.
