I know a UF Law grad who lives in Seattle. She doesn't have all of her marbles, and she works at Anne Taylor. The only legal work she has do e - as far as I can tell - is some doc review. She was obviously lousy at it! Living in a Downtown-Seattle apartment or on Capitol Hill and not owning a home after several years out, doing spotty doc review and working at Anne Taylor doesn't bode well for her future as an attorney.

On top of that, she was too chicken to uphold the law when she witnessed a civil crime but refused to testify in court. As a lawyer, one should understand that it is a civic duty to participate in the legal process when called upon to do so.

I lost a lot of respect for her when she avoided testifying.

Bottom line: if other UF Law grads are like her, the school must suck!

Not that anyone on TLS was going to advise you to go to UF anyway.

Although if smarmy assholes are a reason not to go to a school, we're all pretty screwed, except for the super-chill softball bros at UVA.

YMMV. Levin isn't bad. Are there douches? Of course. FTH can testify to that. There are douches at FSU, Miami and Stetson too. I would be willing to bet that OP (the obvious author of the blog) is a douche.


I won't be going BigLaw. I don't want BigLaw. I'll be at a midsized firm making $50k until I can make a name for myself in the community I've chosen, and then see where that takes me. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I have friends doing FL BigLaw; if that's what they want, good for them.


It's all about busting your ass, having reasonable expectations, and knowing what you're getting into. I think UF might attract a number of weirdos who simply decide they want to live in FL.

The blog author seems like a loner who pretends he is a loner because he's too smart/cool/quippy for all the unwashed, drunken peons to appreciate.

Get over yourself OP. You look down at the other "drunk-frat boy" law students at your school but has it occurred to you that they most likely had the same, or better, credentials as you, and probably most of them aren't paying as much to go there as you are? You're like a dumber (and obviously poorer) version of Mark Zuckerberg. No one is impressed with your snotty remarks about what you learned in CivPro and how you apply them to irrelevant life experiences. You're more than likely the guy that nobody likes and nobody knows, and your presence at UF is probably comparable to that of the night-shift janitor at Levin (at least they make a contribution to the place)

But keep blogging, boss. Maybe someday that will pay off

I honestly expected there to be a ton of frat dudes at UF but they are certainly the minority. Most people are pretty cool here. It's not the best school but I want to work non-biglaw in Florida and it was cheap. This guy sounds like a douche.

Lol. What is this.. So random. This just seems like a bunch of stereotyped crappy false dialogue, like a bad family guy episode. I dont get it. None of these conversations occurred; the dialogue is not realistic or representative of any vernacular in FL or elsewhere. Im confused. This was a waste of my time.

im with ya brother. I really like the show and honestly can't go too long without my fix of harvey and donna. we all have to come clean about the show's writing and dialogue, they're both god-awful. thankfully, it scores enough style points to make up for it.
