NU does fine in Biglaw. Look at LST for more info.

I have never heard of a non-URM getting into Chicago or Columbia w/ a 3.0

But you do you bro

Realistically, you're looking at NU, UVA, and maybe (just maybe) Penn if you sell it hard

I got into NYU with a 173+ and a gpa slightly lower than 3.1

Look me up on LSN, same name.

My head exploded when I read that. I'm picking up the various pieces and attempting to scrape all the brain blood on my walls back in.

I have a question about northwestern...

Its in the T14 but if I want to do biglaw is it a good school to attend for that?

It has taken people with worse GPA than mine.
look at law school transparency.
Also do you think in the future schools will put more emphasis on LSAT? Since less people are taking LSAT higher scores will be more sought after right?
That is what has happened the past 2 cycles.

I hope they do look for higher LSAT scores.

I feel like it is a better gauge than GPA because some majors are tougher especially without curves.

Thanks Nova.

Thanks to other posters as well.

He's removed most of his posts at this point, but here is a post with his #s: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... r#p6316283
3.1/177 definitely in at yale and non-urm. He's removed most of his old posts now but I know he had some crazy story to explain his grades first year, and after that he had a near 4.0. Plus obviously he's the most special snowflake to ever grace TLS.

Basic takeaway is I'm saying you still shouldn't be applying to Yale even if you get a 180 unless your life is literally something they could make a movie out of.

Yale's lowest matriculated GPA has been around 3.5-3.55, traditionally. If it's true that a person with a 3.1 got in, that's very interesting.

I looked at his post history... I think he is a LGBT? I'm not sure but doesn't that count as a different kind of URM since I guess there are not as many LGBT folks as non-LGBT?

LGBT is not URM and if it did provide a small boost it still doesn't come even close to explaining how he got yale

damn... if he really did get in to yale that is impressive no doubt. he's probably one of those people who is "too smart" for school and did his own thing.

wish we knew more haha
