Math. 20,000 will be happy they attended LS and another 20,000 will be disappointed. Unless your family has a firm, or you can land a T-14 and not wind up too far below median you have a good chance of being in the first 20,000 group. Your chances are probably fair if you are at a beloved regional school or upper level Tier 1 with better than median grades. As noted on TLS many times, going to for-profit and lower ranked schools is a gigantic odds-are-against-you crap shoot. Why people go that route remains a mystery.

Why is InfiLaw a foreign corporation?? Am I missing something here?

I'm pretty sure foreign in this case just means the corporation was incorporated in another state.

180 thread. PSOL is a joke in the Phoenix area. The only graduates I know who had a good outcome from there either transferred after 1L, or did LS part-time and already had connections.

For-profits are operated by private, profit-seeking businesses and are backed by (and ultimately accountable to) investors.

not-for-profit is just an IRS category that exempts the school from taxes and allows them to accept tax-deductible contributions (endowments). NFP schools generally direct their money back into the schools' facilities, sports programs, scholarships, etc.

I wonder where this 1,300 number comes from. That's another fuckton of 140s-range LSATs. I wonder if the deal fell through because in the group's latest number crunch, their projections didn't look so hot.

Too late: Belmont Law School gained provisional approval within the past week. I assume they have to screw up royally to not gain full approval within a couple of years. So now there are 203 ABA-approved law schools.

We all know the Nashville area has a booming music law industry and there are no other area law schools that feed into this market.

I think they had 580 matriculations last fall. 671 matriculated in fall of 2011, both numbers down from 808 in the fall of 2010, so at least things are trending in the right direction - the 648 number would have matriculated in 2009, so really, the last few years have been a major windfall for this group.

But, neary half of FC students pay full freight, so these are pretty big hits. Also, doesn't take into account steeper discounts to attract current applicants (if such is the case).

About 150 of last year's entering class scored 143 or lower on the LSAT.

So are the last three schools in their own "Tier Five"? I can see it now - "Sure, I'm starting off at Rocco's School of Shitlaw, but I'm gonna be top 10% and transfer up into a T4!"
