dude stop victimizing yourself and just study for the lsat. either you break 170 and have a decent shot at T14 or you don't break 170 and you have literally zero chance, that's all there is to know in your situation.louierodriguez wrote:I will get into a top 14 if it's the last thing I do.

I'm really enjoying this thread.ManOfTheMinute wrote:Last week you were saying HLS or bust... Next week it'll be tier 1, and by July you'll be locked in on Cooley!louierodriguez wrote:I will get into a top 14 if it's the last thing I do.

OP, no one said you couldn't get into NU or GULC. They just laughed at you because, you know, you thought you could get into Harvard with a 3.09 and only applied there. Even if you're trolling, it's fun to watch you realize your basket fell and all your eggs are broken. Now go study for the LSAT and don't come back until you have another hilarious PS to show us.

What is wrong with you guys? This OP is stationed abroad with the navy. He obviously doesn't know anything about law school applications. Why make fun of people who don't have the same knowledge as you do. The world is full of people who are clueless about law school applications.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:I'm really enjoying this thread.ManOfTheMinute wrote:Last week you were saying HLS or bust... If he turns out to be a troll then arguing with him is the time proven worst possible approach.

Re: Why Go At All?
OP, as an aside, stating it's "Harvard or nothing" doesn't speak much to your resolve to become an attorney, it speaks to your wanting Harvard prestige and comes across as an ultimatum of sorts.
You need a contingency plan in case of the highly likely event that you are rejected from HLS. Failure to have one not only shows naivety but it also shows lack of foresight and indicates poor planning. I understant what you are trying to achieve by that line, but you are also sending a message beyond that which you intended.
Anyhow, I realize you didn't put your PS in this thread and the thread is not designed to get feedback on your PS.
Use that military discipline to crush the Lsat and enjoy the vet bump in your app cycle! A 3.09 may well render HYS off of the table, but you can surely get into somewhere worth going.
Good luck!

Re: Why Go At All?
I don't have a ton of respect for people who post questions/statements wherein basic misconceptions could easily be corrected by spending five minutes on TLS. And even less so for people who claimed to have wanted to go to law school since the age of 16.NYstate wrote:What is wrong with you guys? This OP is stationed abroad with the navy. I would be more sympathetic if there were any indication OP wants to learn something about the application process, but his post history leans more heavily toward declarations than questions. OP also said you don't need a reason for wanting to go to law school, which is stupid above and beyond being ignorant about only the process. Those things indicate he's more likely a troll than not, but I'm going to enjoy the thread regardless.

Seriously tho, break 170, ED UVA and use the GI bill to graduate close to debt free.

Maybe acting a fool and making wild declarations is my way of learning. It's only through all your harsh criticisms that I've become more whole.
And to the person who said ED at UVA... no thanks. Virginia is not for me. Norfolk, Virginia is Navy land and I want to be nowhere near all that noise. I'm pretty sure Norfolk is atleast 2 hours away, but still, too close.
However, Georgetown, Cornell, or Northwestern would all float my boat.

There are Navy people everywhere, but Norfolk has quite the reputation amongst junior enlisted sailors.sublime wrote: Also, aren't there Navy people in DC too?

I feel you. I would rather avoid the military population whenever possible too.

I just have lived near a large AF base for the past 20 years and prefer not to. Other reasons too, but mainly that. Also hippie would fit better. Many "communist" nations were pretty heavily militarized.
