How is this possible? I didn't know BC did full tuition scholarships with COL stipends on top.lhfl5858 wrote:COA (interest and COL included) at each:
UT: 77,671

go to UT.
$171k COA is not "killer". OP has instate tuition, not a scholarship covering everything.jbagelboy wrote:I don't know what people are saying, UT at that price is killer.
Well.. for a 3.25 UGPA, to land UT when you actually want to work in texas and graduate with ~75K debt is a pretty killer outcome IMO.TripTrip wrote:$171k COA is not "killer". It's still not a bad choice because there isn't as much debt, but that doesn't make it a hands-down fantawesome decision, either.

Sad thing is that schools like Michigan used to also be available at this sort of discounted price to folks, but alas, tuition just had to skyrocket because of (insert questionable reasons here) ______, _______, and __________.TheNextAmendment wrote:In all honesty, and I know everybody already knows this, but Texas residents are so damn fortunate. Talk about a steal- A top law school just out of the T14 for a non-discounted price of $171k Total COA after in-state tuition. It's still a lot of money...but better than the non-discounted $225k+ total coa for most T20. UT is easy choice here IMO.
UT actually server the state of Texas. UMich does not serve the state of Michigan. Not like there's a whole lot going on there anyway. Only major city is Detroit, and who wants to be in Detroit?dawyzest1 wrote:Sad thing is that schools like Michigan used to also be available at this sort of discounted price to folks, but alas, tuition just had to skyrocket because of (insert questionable reasons here) ______, _______, and __________.TheNextAmendment wrote:In all honesty, and I know everybody already knows this, but Texas residents are so damn fortunate. Besides, how can UMich expect to compete with all those Cooley grads?
You were a weird highschooler.jbagelboy wrote:When I was in high school I remember thinking I wanted to go to UCLA law since it was a solid option at that price.

Agreed that of these two, UT. However I think Diddy is making a good point. I mean, if the OPs parents are rich and are kicking in a lot then no biggie but if the OP is paying for a lot of this out of personal savings and/or his parents are going to be financially burdened by their own generosity then it might be better to not go at all or go to a different school.Micdiddy wrote:jbagelboy wrote:I don't know what people are saying, UT at that price is killer. thats awesome -- congratulations.
go to UT.
that's what everyone said.
Op, when you calculate COA do not deduct personal saving, just scholarship amount. With that said, assuming you're not spending like 75k+ in personal savings, UT is the better choice by far.
