Neither gives you a meaningful shot at biglaw.

The quality of response you get will be based on the amount of information you give.
Cost of attendance, GPA, LSAT, personal preferences, scholarship if any, stipulations if any, ties if any are starters.

Neither for big law. Retake the LSAT to get into a school that will give you a meaningful shot.

Thanks all. Unfortunately re-taking is not an option (for personal reasons)
W&M - 10k/year scholarship
GMU - sticker (but I own a house there, won't have to pay for rent etc.)

Unfortunately, if retaking truly is not an option, you should not go to law school. That is far too expensive for either school, especially considering the outcomes they provide. Why do you want to go to law school?mohanster wrote:Thanks all. Unfortunately re-taking is not an option (for personal reasons)

Neither as neither school provides you a reasonable chance at achieving your goals.

OP, this is just plain insanity. You're looking at spending six figures for a mediocre shot at biglaw? Really?
And I can pretty much guarantee you that your reasons for not wanting to retake are not legit. If you're seeking validation for this objectively terrible investment, you won't find it here.

Reconsider your "personal reasons" for not retaking. Retaking can produce great results: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=208084
If you don't retake and your goal is biglaw, then I would recommend reconsidering law school since neither of these schools looks like a good option.

Thanks guys. I am rich and can afford the debt (modesty ).
Re-taking means foregoing another year, not an option due to family reasons etc.
My LSAT was 164.

Great, if you're rich, throw the 150k into a brokerage account or somewhere where it will actually benefit you. Also, once again: why do you want to go to law school?mohanster wrote:Thanks guys. I am rich and can afford the debt (modesty ).

Because money isn't everything in life. How will a brokerage account help - get me more money - I'll invest it further - that'll get me more money - what's next? - Law school seems like a good education option.ImNoScar wrote:Great, if you're rich, throw the 150k into a brokerage account or somewhere where it will actually benefit you. If you were rich you would pay in cash rather than finance thru debt.mohanster wrote:Thanks guys. I am rich and can afford the debt (modesty ).
And I hope you don't mind joining the middle class law school because your most likely outcome from either school is probably 40-50k. That's a statistical fact and a reality of the bimodal distribution of salaries.
Finally, of course re-taking requires a year off at this point. But if you were serious about your goals, that's what you would do.

It's a damn professional school
Cmon bro
Guys, appreciate your interest in helping me here. But if we could just stick to the question at hand, that'll be more useful.
I hope you would understand that I given enough thought before deciding to go to law school and will not be/should not be highly persuaded by the comments on that decision. Thanks again!

Re: George Mason Vs William&Mary {Seeking big Law}
Law school is not a good "education option." Law school is a good choice in a narrow set of circumstances. It doesn't seem like there's a reason you can articulate why you want to go to law school aside from archiving the nearly unachievable from these schools.
People here are really just trying to help. Spending six figures on these schools is lunacy.

William and Mary has higher biglaw placement than George Mason, but it is still barely a 20% chance.

Because:rad lulz wrote:Why would spending a shitload of money on the education be a good idea when it won't get you where you want to bemohanster wrote:Well its still a "school"!
1. Money is something I have in plenty.
2. It's not set in stone that going to any of these schools will NOT get me a Big law job. Yes the probability maybe 10%.
3. For me, the value of "shitload" of money maybe less than that 10% chance.
I hope I have answered all your questions. Period.
