Hey guys, anyone want to share their opinion or provide some advice...

I'm deciding between Brooklyn Law and American. The drop to #80 really threw me, I was set on going to Brooklyn Law. I'm still not sure how much I should let it influence my decision. Brooklyn's given me 25,000 in awards and the rest will be covered by loans but American has only given me 20,000 in stafford loans..and are notoriously stingy with fin. aid.

Any opinions? Anythings appreciated, thanks guys

Both of those schools are terrible, even if they gave you a full-ride. By not retaking the LSAT and going to a better school, you are giving yourself extremely high odds of ending up unemployed as a lawyer with a life-ruining amount of debt.

20,000 in Stafford loans isn't really something that should be considered as a school giving you money. Brooklyn's very bad, American's terrible. Brooklyn's employment is about 48%. American is 40%. You have a better chance at being unemployed than being a lawyer going to either school. Add loans to that...

I've been waitlisted at GW, Fordham, UM. I agree with what you guys have said, so I'm hoping to get off a waitlist. I've done everything I can so far. visited, sent an additional letter of rec, LOCI, updated them etc.

If you haven't retaken the LSAT, you haven't done everything you could so far.

Even though class sizes are going to be shrinking this year, schools should still be hitting the waitlist pretty hard again due to the 30 year low in apps. There's a good chance you'll get into at least 2 of those schools, which means coming off the waitlist, you're not going to get offered much. GW and Fordham at sticker is very risky. If you don't get into UM, I'd retake and then reapply next year.

I may enroll in the blueprint online course. Cost isn't a concern for the prep course, I just hope the score actually increases.

Terrible options with debt. Stafford loans are not even in the equation- 6.8% for god sakes.

What kind of law do you want to practice and for what type of clients? Where do you want to work?

Congrats on making the right decision. However, you may not have enough time to prep for the June test. I would consider October, defer one year, and get some solid work experience (what I did). Also, neither GW nor Fordham is worth paying sticker, so you'll need a score to get you heavy scholarships at those schools (or look at other/better schools).

If you want the best bang for your buck and cost isn't a concern, use that money on a quality private tutor.

Also, be sure you retake and even if you don't, cross both of these schools off your list and also ask for your application money back.
