I dont mind where I work. I want to work for government probably local (district attorney etc), but possibly federal. Not Big Law. UVA is higher ranked, but less debt at USC.

Where are you from? If you don't want big law there's almost no reason to pick UVA.

Like others have mentioned, it really depends on what field you want to work in and where. That being said, UVA will almost always have better employment prospects than USC.

I'd take USC because I don't like 200k+ in debt.

USC - 14% unemployed + 4% school funded = 18% underemployment/unemployed
- smaller class
- less debt
- not better clerkship numbers than uva
- more regional (but does extremely well if you are median and above)

UVA - 1% unemployment + 15% school funded = 16% underemployment/unemployed
- 2x USC class size
- way more debt
- better clerkship numbers
- more nationwide reach...stronger on East Coast I think but not impossible go to back to CA
