Cornell v. GW

I was pretty set on biting the bullet and going to Cornell at sticker with my parents paying for living expenses, but GW just sent me an email upping my scholarship offer to $24,000 a year. I liked both schools, but I am wary of GW employing 20% of its graduates in school-funded jobs. What do people think the decision should be in this case?

I do not really have a preference between NYC or DC, but I would love the opportunity to practice big law after law school. Thanks to all of those who respond.

Calculate COAof the two

If you want biglaw, Cornell. Though it still is an expensive investment at sticker, it seems the better option and especially so given your career goals.

Cornell and it's not that close. That's not enough to offset the risk of bad outcomes from GW. Also, contact Cornell fin aid and try to negotiate using the GW money. Maybe you can snag 10k a year or some such.

Neither. Retake and reapply.

Cornell is obviously the better choice here, but it's not worth sticker.

Isn't Cornell 57K+/year now in tuition alone? Holy smokes! You will need more than just the option to do BigLaw. Think long and hard about this OP.

Thanks to everyone for their input. GW just emailed again with an additional 5k a year in need based aid, so now its 29k a year. Gonna be a tough decision.

Same dilemma here. Costs 20k more a year to attend Cornell though not at sticker. Negotiating with the school.
