I was accepted to NKU Chase with a full ride and Ole Miss with a 13,000 scholarship making it 10,000. I want to attend the higher ranked school however do not have many connections in Mississippi. I live in kentucky, just trying to decide if it's worth it to pay the extra to go to ole miss especially with that brand new building.

What is total COA? NKU with full tuition is better. Kentucky with instate+ a scholly would be the beat option.

Brand new building is the obv deciding factor. Plus Tier 3 vs tier 4. We can all agree this is a no brainer.

I wouldn't go to ole miss if you're from out of state and have no intention of staying in MS. the appeal of the new building wears off in about 2.5 seconds because job prospects are really bleak.

Did you get any $ from louisville? that or UK would be better options.

Do not go to NKU. Absolutely terrible job prospects. Girl I went to UG with decide to go there and take the $$$ over going to UL and UK, she now deeply regrets her decisions.

There is an absurdly high chance that a law graduate will feel this way at graduation in the current market, but at least she doesn't have life destroying debt too.

Go to the school in the state you want to work in.

Before that, calculate the COA and analyze if it is going to ruin your life or not

Or UL. Either are good schools that place FAR better in the KY market. One of the only ways to get a job out of NKU is to be tied into it before you go.

Got into UK but told them I would not be attending after receiving the scholarship to NKU allowing for them to admit from their waitlist. I plan on visiting Oxford this weekend, I am open to working anywhere but I do have connections in Cincinnati. Just trying to figure out if paying 10,000 per year is going to be worth it in the long run.

That was dumb. Did you try negotiating with UK using your scholarships? Also, if you are interested in working in northern Kentucky/Cincinnati then your best option would be the University of Cincinnati. What are your numbers? Cincinnati has the graduated metro rate which basically gives instate tuition (like $23,000) and if you have a 3.5/160, You'd probably get a scholarship of roughly $10k a year. If you are really debt averse and want to work in the area, I think this would be your best option, but note that their employment stats aren't very sexy. Better than NKU's though.
