What $ at NU to take over UChi ?

I'd like to go to NU or UChicago. I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay back loans with no interest, so presumably I could pay back something like 12k per year for 20 years, although obviously I'd like to get it paid off faster than that.

Gunning for Biglaw/BigGov/Clerkship.

I know that NU actually has better stats for biglaw, but I'm guessing that is somewhat of self-selection. I think I would fit in more so at UChi due to reputation being more policy/gov and less corporate focused than NU.

All things equal, I'd prefer UChi, but I'm guessing things won't be equal. If I get into UChi, it will be at sticker.

WWJD?

In a similar situation. I have 150K at NU and 45K at UChi and I am pretty confident that NU is the right call for me. I want BigLaw as well.

I think for 75k I'd seriously consider NU over Chicago but it's still tough. Do you have work experience? If you are K-JD I think you will enjoy Chicago more.

Complete no-brainer here. Chicago isn't worth anything remotely close to that much more than NU.

15k a year is what I'd value the difference as. So if it's that, pick U of C if you prefer it. Beyond that NW makes more sense.

There is no choice in your situation. There is a clear answer. You know what is so don't derail the thread.

You are talking over 100k for going to a school that is at best a half step below the other. And in Chicago, I'm not convinced U of C is even a little better. Nationwide it's probably a half step better.

I enjoy UChicago, but I'd go to NU if this isn't one of those defer a year deals. $105k is a lot of coin.
