As schools begin to update their sites with c/o 2012 employment stats, I figured we'd start one thread to compile the key information. When more schools publish their numbers, let me know and I'll update the OP.

USC:

Federal Clerks: 6.7%
= 37.5%
School-funded = 4.5% (10 people)

NYU likes to post its stats in the most confusing way possible. Someone may want to double check my math but it looks right:
http://www.law.nyu.edu/careerservices/e ... /index.htm
100+ firms: 59.5%
Federal clerks: 5.6%
= 65.1%
School funded = 12.9%

We should probably sticky this in the near future

School: Employed in firms of 100+ attorneys + federal clerkships = Total
Harvard: 53.6 + 17.8 = 71.4
UVA: 47.8 + ??=?? (UVA does not break out Federal from other clerks)
UCLA: 34.2 + 4.8 = 39
USC: 30.8 + 6.7 = 37.5
WUSTL: 23 + 3.3 = 26.3
Alabama: 8.1 + 9.3 = 17.4
Notre Dame: 24 + 8.7 = 32.7
W & M: 12.7 + 5.9 = 18.6
Wake: 14.7 + 5.8 = 20.5
Hey man, I think it'd be cool to show percent changes from c/o 2011 as well.
HLS = +4.5% & +1.5% = +6%
UVA = +9.6% & +3.7% = +13.3%
Look at the ABA sheet for UVA's federal clerkship numbers: 52/364 or 14.3%, bringing its total to 62.1%

Which is a 16.4% increase in firms and a 5.6% decrease in federal clerkships, or a 10.8% increase overall.
You have to make sure to first subtract out the 15 people who are pursuing a grad degree or are unemployed.

Yeah, my bad. ChampagnePapi was right via the ABA sheet:
--LinkRemoved--
The actual percent changes are: +16.4% and -5.3% or 11.1% increase

Why would you subtract them?

A terribly incomplete chart:

Ruxin1 wrote:

Because NYU does. The percentages they list on their site are the percentage of employed grads only within each subsection.

If only UVA could set up a law firm to employ all its school-funded graduates its "students in 100+ firms" number would be through the roof.
Anyway, what's the deal with these numbers? Are schools required to release them? And (if so) when?

That's a big jump from 2011:
University of Illinois:
100+: 13.7%
Fed Clerks: 4.7%
=18.4%

Only 5.6% placed in federal clerkships for NYU? What happened there?

2011 large firm scores:
Mich: 34 %
Notre Dame: 20 %
Illinois: 13.7 %
Crossing my fingers here, does this mean that Chicago big firm hiring is starting to pick up a bit after being particularly slow to recover post-recession?

Hiring for c/o 2012 seems to be up across the board RELATIVE to c/o 2011, which makes sense since the CW is that c/o 2011 was rock bottom.

Posting UCI

(I am sure Dre will come in here soon to remind us it is TTT trash)
firm 100+ = 23.2%
Fed clerkships= 28.6%
23.2 + 28.6 = 51.8%

Well it confirms earlier estimates. Worth noting that 23.2% in this case means only 13 people.
