Hello

I am a long time lurker just looking for opinions on how best to balance debt and employment opportunities with the scholarship offers I have.

What is total CoA including interest at each school

CoA for each is about the same at roughly $210-220,000

without interest

Nothing from Penn or UVA, or especially Berkeley? Given that money at Michigan, I'm pretty surprised.

How is the COA at Duke equal to the COA at USC given the aid differences?

Dude CoA = (tuition + CoL + fees - scholarship) + (interest on loans used to pay for the aforementioned)

Please calculate that

Sorry I meant that CoA would be roughly the same at all of them without aid, so CoA with interest is closer to

USC: $92,000
UCLA: $116,00
MICH: $140,000
Duke: $155,000

I apologize for the confusion.

WL at Penn and Berk, plan to ride them out

Of these I would choose Duke or Michigan, you'll need big law out of any of these schools and Duke/Michigan give you a way better shot at that than the LA schools. Duke has been out placing Michigan the past couple years so maybe I would choose Duke over Michigan.

How did you get $140k from USC?

I thought the same thing. Interested in this as well. It's not even a number divisible by 3.

Maybe he got a full ride and just put 140k instead of 150k. If it is a full ride I'd estimate COA at about 225 before aid so like 75K after the scholly.

Unpossible unless he is the Rothman. And if he is then he should take that, no questions asked.

Hmm. I actually looked back at my old scholarships and I got 100k from Berkeley which also isn't divisible by three. Maybe it's a Cali thing.

Rothman is full tution (about 160,000) and another 20,000-30,000 from a guranteed SA at skadden. so a total of about 180,000 - 190,000. I think he should check that 140,000 from USC,according to LSN they dont give out more than 120,000. I think I heard someone got 120,000 from USC and some diversity scholarshop that was plus another 20k or so but other than that I haven't seen them go above 120,000 unless it's the Rothman.

$140,000 is not the Rothman, unfortunately. It's a combination of scholarships from different sources, which would out me if I discussed them.

I believe Mich has more CA firms at OCI. If you're trying to make it back to LA it might be easier from there. Though Duke has been placing better overall.
