Choosing based on IP interest

I've pretty much decided that I want to focus on IP in law school. Background: BS Mechanical Engineering + BS Mathematics. I'm still waiting to hear back from Georgetown and Duke, but I've currently narrowed down my top choices to UT and GWU.

#15 UT: unranked IP, COL will be very small, COA will be around 21k.
#21 GWU: #3/#4 IP, very appealing internship opportunities, possibility of LLM in IP after 1 extra year, COL and COA (35k) will be much higher.

I'm from Texas and I'd like to work in TX/the Southwest (space commercialization is my main interest). I also have an interest in working on the West Coast or around the DC Metroplex.

Basically, do I go for less debt at UT and then just brush up on patent bar review during/after 3L, or do I go for GWU where I'll be getting more + practical IP classes and possibly more connections to what I want to do at the cost of more debt?

Where do you want to work? Where are you from?

Where are you from? What are your stats? What is your degree?

Don't pay much attention to the specialty rankings.

That said, getting an IP job from GW is a thing, but not guaranteed. I don't know much about the IP market in Texas, but I would assume UT gives you as good a shot at a job there as anywhere else your considering would.

Either way, the general recommendation is to go to the school in the area that you want to live.

Are you serious? Texas wins on every count. GW would have to give me a full ride for it to even compete.

UT bruh.

Lower cost, lower cost of living, AND you want to stay in Texas. NO brainer.

IPSecure.

Try to pass the patent bar before school starts and enjoy your 1L SA.
