Pepperdine vs, SCU

Post by mkelly » Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:48 am

HI everyone,

I am still trying to make a decision on schools and just recently was admitted to Pepperdine.

I wanted to know if it would be possible to go to school there and then practice in the south bay or is pepperdine more of a regional school to socal?

Would my chances of getting a mid sized firm job in the south bay be higher coming out of santa clara or pepperdine?

Thanks!

I would assume Santa Clara if you want South Bay. I know a few students at Santa Clara. They don't paint a rosy picture.

most ppl will tell u to retake. If you're going to either, it's a big risk, and you better have a large scholly or have a background to do IP.

Any scholarships and what are the stips?

Unfortunately the midsize firm is largely a myth. Firms of this size tend not to hire straight out of law school. You should have sizable scholarships (think almost full) or you should retake to go to a school with better employment prospects. It's bad out there and you want to approach the market with as much firepower as possible.

Don't go to either if you want a job.

Scholarships? Do you have a hard science degree?

Absent massive scholarships (like free school), neither is a good idea at all.
