No one on this board will tell you to take gw at sticker. Do you have ties to Texas?

No, you want to be a patent litigator--much more interesting. And you could get that in the DC market.

Maybe he does and maybe he could, but even IP secure doesn't make gw at sticker a sound decision. OP have u tried to negotiate aid from gw?

Why wouldn't you take SMU here? Money versus no money, and EDTX is a huge patent district, and NDTX is getting there.

You know, great catch. You're right about Texas and patent litigation.
My bad. I change my tune. Yea, patent litigation, focus in on EDTX/NDTX. Gun.

And there are Dallas firms that want patent-eligible people. I've got 3 jobs on my Symplicity for starting associates for patent work. Kills me that I can't apply.

SMU, bro. It places surprisingly well for a school of its ranking.

I know DC is probably the biggest patent market. And I send my resume to some top patent firms DC offices, the feedback is pretty positive. A few even called me back to tell me I have an excellent chance of getting summer intern after I finish my GW 1L. This general positive feedback makes me seriously consider GW.

Is it too early to negotiate aid? I guess I should give them a call. Thanks.

GW at sticker (or even near sticker...) is over paying.
SMUs job prospects are better than a many T1s.
Dallas is good a sized market and SMU is very respected there. Big cities in Texas are inclusive. Transplants are welcome (I grew up in Dallas).
I would retake or take the money.

SMU is the better option between these two. The best option is to retake since you have no ties to Texas.

Won't matter much for someone that can do patent work.
