You can definitely cross off GULC, UCLA, UT, and Emory at those costs. Mich @ 45k seems the best right now but I would hold out for $ from NU/Cornell.

TCR. You'll probably get some $ from Cornell.

Type of engineering?
Leaning toward GW or USC.

Can you guys elaborate more on why you would cross off UCLA at 65K in favor of Michigan at 45K? Is Michigan worth 20K more? I have no idea - I'm genuinely asking because I have a similar decision to make.

see if UCLA will come up with more money -- show them the offer from 'SC. Then choose between those two for Calif.

Are UCLA and USC better for trying to break into NorCal? I was rejected from Berkeley last week, so that's not an option.
Disclosure: I'm a clueless 0L with very similar options (120k at UCLA, 45k at Michigan, 0k at Berkeley so far) and also ChemE looking into patent/IP law, so your post is very interesting to me
From the research I've been seeing, UCLA and USC are very SoCal market oriented. I wouldn't go there with the intention of using it to break into Silicon valley, considering Stanford and Berkeley.
Michigan would probably give you a slightly better chance for that.
